1. Introduction

BuilderIQ Analytics (“BuilderIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Kwabena Kesse, CPA. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application at builderiqai.com and related services (the “Service”).

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, company name, and role. Authentication is handled by Clerk, a third-party identity provider.

Financial Data: You may upload or enter construction financial data including contracts, WIP schedules, job cost reports, pay applications, certified payroll records, and covenant details. This data is stored securely and is only accessible to authorized users within your organization.

Documents: Files you upload for AI analysis are stored in AWS S3 with AES-256 encryption. Documents are namespaced by company and are never shared across organizations.

Usage Data: We collect standard log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps to improve the Service and diagnose issues.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Service, including financial calculations, AI document analysis, and alerts
• To send transactional notifications (covenant breach alerts, heat advisories, billing alerts, digest emails)
• To process payments through Stripe
• To improve the Service based on usage patterns
• To respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate BuilderIQ:

• Clerk — Authentication and user management
• Stripe — Payment processing (we never store credit card numbers)
• AWS S3 — Encrypted document storage
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered document analysis (document content is sent for analysis but not stored by Anthropic)
• Resend — Transactional email delivery
• Sentry — Error monitoring (no financial data is sent to Sentry)
• Vercel — Application hosting
• Neon — PostgreSQL database hosting

Each third-party service maintains its own privacy policy. We select providers that meet industry security standards.

5. Data Security

• All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/SSL
• Documents are encrypted at rest using AES-256 on AWS S3
• Database connections use SSL encryption
• All API endpoints require authentication (except public landing pages)
• Multi-tenant isolation ensures your data is never accessible to other organizations
• Role-based access control restricts data visibility within your organization

6. Data Retention

Your financial data and documents are retained as long as your account is active. Notification logs older than 90 days and read alerts older than 30 days are automatically purged. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal and financial data at any time through the Service
• Export your data in standard formats
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out of non-essential notifications

8. Children's Privacy

BuilderIQ is a business application not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
